Lost and Alone (and Driving)

by Stephen Stannard

/

about

My debut solo single. After the longest time, I thought it was about time to sing something more personal, and less swathed in layers of metaphor. I have a both a very special mini-album to be released very (very) shortly, plus an album next year.

lyrics

A chair braced the door, in this hotel of memory.
Lost and alone and driving.
For every social exchange, the endless re-runs and inquests.
Lost and alone and driving.

Well fell into love, so deep underwater.
Lost and alone and driving.
An oath to our last breath, a retreat from the surface.
Lost and alone and driving.

Etched into my skin, hope the needles can cover.
We are lost and alone and driving.
But you cut so deep, all this hurt for no purpose.
Lost and alone and driving.

A chair braced the door, in this hotel of memory.
Lost and alone and driving.
